Our Projects

Opensource games people want to play.

Game Logo

Zero-K, a fast action RTS based on the Spring Engine.

Popularity

Reaching thousands of players, Zero-K is popular on many distribution platforms. People engage in tournaments daily. The game enjoys well balanced strategy born form a rich legacy of the leading RTS games.

Replay

The native function of playback found in Zero-K makes it a prime candidate for integration. User input is already recorded, and will soon be validated by our witness to produce proofs for the Ecoin intex ledger.

An Old Genre

The RTS market is underserved. Thousands of potential players are looking to join in a vibrant and supported RTS community. Soon, Zero-k will offer them a great experience, plus rewards earned through play.

A New Appeal

Developer rewards will attract talent and support, helping to make a great game even better. Soon, Zero-k will not just be a stonout in its genre, but a demonstration in the value of integration and the many benefits Ecoin offers.

Gameplay

Implementation

Zero-K represents a complex game with a rich potential for win-conditions in the production of proofs for the Ecoin intex ledger. Identifying the best requirments for proofs to satisfy the security of the ledge, diversity, and player satisfaction is key, but balance must be struck with the weight of data and consistency of replay. Developing the intersection of efficiency, timing, and validation provides not only a proper solution for Zero-K, but the techniques needed to adopt all games within the genre.

Game Logo

0 A.D., a professional, opensource successor to Age of Empires.

Popularity

Enjoying a strong level of support from fans of the widely loved Age of Empires, 0 A.D. will be able to introduce many thousands to the Ecoin intex ledger. The high polish, and strategic gameplay is sure to be favorite for new players, as well.

Replay

With a well developed multiplayer function, 0 A.D. is programmed for accuracy and some ease of information retrieval. Providing a record of user inputs for the witness should result in a high degree of validation, and consistent production of proofs.

An Old Genre

Like with Zero-K, the RTS market lacks new releases. Thousands rely on classics and opensource projects for their entertainment. Though many have moved to MOBAs, nothing is better than a hectic 8v8 RTS match with friends.

A New Appeal

The ability to incent new players to 0 A.D. and encourage current and old players to engage more frequently will have a compound effect, producing ever greater levels of community and value, of which some portion will go to new development.

Gameplay

Implementation

0 A.D. is a modern and competent game programmed by a dedicated team. Development of a witness should occur with some ease, and go further in the making of an API for the RTS genre which will serve countless other games. Testing for cross-purpose conditions, and across languages will take time, but prove worth the effort once we leave the prototyping stage.

Game Logo

Xonotic, an adrenaline fueled, immersive FPS.

Popularity

This free and fast-paced arena shooter has carved itself a dedicated fanbase. Relying on an efficiency in design, Xonotic is available to a wider audience that other, more demanding FPS games exclude. More players, more proofs.

Multiplayer

The multiplayer aspect in programming content is always one of the more difficult and intricate parts of development. Creating the tools for a deterministic replay of user inputs to result in a valid proof will represent a small challenge.

A Platform

Xonotic includes the tools and editors for additional content. Through the interest of new players, Xonotic can be richly expanded beyond its current state, providing even more potential for entertainment and proof production.

The Way Forward

It is our hope to make Xonotic the first FPS integrated with the Ecoin intex ledger, and a flagship for awareness. The progress from this project will go toward the Ecoin unified API for the genre which will streamline the process in future.

Gameplay

Implementation

Xonotic presents unique challenges in the design of proof structures. Due to the multiplayer aspects, many gamers can be working toward a number of distinct proofs within the same game. Saving state data and accounting for the range of player location is a technical but straightforward hurdle. More design effort must go toward defining the potential win-conditions for proof production, seeking to meet the expectations of reward, weight, and diversity for the Ecoin intex ledger.

At the same time, Xonotic allows us the additional potential to implement secondary markets and monetized tournaments based on Ecoin. A marketplace for user made content can encourage design and art assets to be made available in-game. Tournaments with stake similarly encourage competitive play, and can draw professionals and broader appeal among eSport enthusiasts. These are valid additions and add greater utility to Ecoin.

Game Logo

The Battle for Wesnoth, a leader in turn-based strategy.

Popularity

In the market of turn-based strategy, Wesnoth is a known and beloved title. Given its long history, well crafted content and community participation, it has broad appeal.

Replay

The turn-based nature of Wesnoth makes the development of a witness and validation trivial. Defining win-conditions requires more thought.

Demographics

Wesnoth brings into the fold a different set of players than with RTS and FPS genres. The strength of Ecoin is its ability to work for all genres, uniting casual and hardcore gamers.

Mobile Play

Of our current projects, Wesnoth is the most available to players around the world. Many simple devices can run this game, inviting the participation of millions in a new economy.

Gameplay

Implementation

Given the nature of the Battle for Wesnoth, the process of integration is simple and straightforward, and should result in absolute reliability in proof production. Setting win-conditions, and exploring the tailoring of proofs based upon campaign content is a potential experiment. Tying proof production with achievements is also an interesting proposition, which can lead to additional utility and interaction with distribution platforms.

Through integration, games are stronger, and more alive than ever.
